FAQ

  • Do you take insurance?

I do not take insurance and only take private pay at this time. However, a monthly insurance-ready “superbill” (receipt) can be provided upon request for reimbursement purposes. You will be responsible to submit the superbill directly to your insurance provider if your plan offers "out of network" reimbursement.

  • How do I know if I have out of network coverage for services?

Here are some example questions that may be helpful to ask your insurance provider:

-Do I have “out of network” mental health insurance benefits for Associate therapists?

-What is the “allowed amount” per session and the reimbursement rate?

-What is my yearly deductible and have I met it?

    -How will I be reimbursed?

-How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?

  • Do you offer reduced fee or sliding scale options?

Yes, I do have a number of sliding scale slots and may be able to offer flexibility in my fees, based on need and frequency of sessions. We will discuss this in our consultation.

  • How do I schedule an appointment?

The best way to connect with me is to reach out via email to schedule a free 30 minute consultation. This gives us a time to connect and get to know each other, go over logistics, and decide if we want to move forward with scheduling our first appointment.

  • How long does counseling last?

Our first appointment will last about 90 minutes so that we can go through paperwork and get to know one another. Regular appointments are 1 hour long.

Frequency and total timeline of counseling depend on your counseling goals and what’s going on in your life. We will have ongoing conversations about this. Typically clients start out meeting once per week. As time goes on, some clients reduce the frequency of meeting if that feels appropriate. There is no set time for how long counseling takes overall. For some people, therapy lasts months, for some it’s years, and for some, they return to counseling off and on over years as their life requires.

  • Do I have to include meditation and/or spirituality in my therapy?

    No, you do not.

Spirituality and meditation can mean different things to each person. In our intake session together, I’ll be asking what these mean to you and if/how you would like these to be a part of our work together.
